All characters on your force must be related or part of a "family". Characters on your force must be directly tied through relation to at least one other character.
Example: If you wanted to connect Hank Pym (Ant-man, Giant-Man, Yellowjacket) to Magneto; you would have to include every character in the chain. For instance: Ant-Man to Ultron to Vision to Scarlet Witch to Magneto.
Other "families" of characters allowed:
Spider-Man Family: Spider-Man, Mary Jane, Spider-Woman, Arachne, SPider-Girl

Since a great deal of time has passed, my Wants list has changed considerably.
Currently, i'm seeking Reed Richards LE, Victor Von Doom LE (both from Secret Invasion), Boy Wonder LE, the Batman chase figures (Arkham Asylum), U Magog, U Green Lantern (Kingdom Come), U Joker (Arkham Asylum), U Spider-Man and U Hulk (Avengers), and generics -- s well as a few others.

Going to run my Turf War tourney again at the end of the month, and indeed, the 1000 character limit on the event description at the Wizkids website is completely insufficient for a full list of generics and their possible leaders.
Here are the options I've come up with:
1) Shield: Shield Agents, Shield Medics, Shield Troopers, Shield Snipers, Mandroid Armors, Shield Trooper/Sniper/Agent, Gabriel Jones, Tia Senyaka, Clay Quartermain, Laura Brown, Agent Beaulieu. Can be led by Nick Fury OR Captain America. Or if you wanted, you could use any one of these figures with the Shield team ability as the leader: Wolverine U (AW #095), Mystique U (AW #094), rookie Hawkeye (Ult #034), experienced Black Widow (Ult #026), rookie Psylocke (AW #055), rookie Mockingbird, or Sam Wilson LE (Sin #207).
2) Hydra/AIM: Hydra Operatives, Hydra Medics, AIM Agents, AIM Medics, Dreadnoughts, Hydra Footsoldier/Technician/Officer, Operative #128, Medic #519, George Tarleton, Scientist Supreme, Silver Dreadnought. Can be led by Red Skull OR Viper (or Madame Hydra LE) OR M.O.D.O.K. OR Arnim Zola OR Baron Blood OR Baron Strucker OR Jessica Drew (AW #217).
3) Villainous Gangs: Thugs, Henchmen, Lackeys, Criminals, Con Artists, Knuckles, Joey the Snake, Sarah St. John. Can be led by Kingpin OR Joker OR Riddler OR Penguin OR Two-Face (or an LE of any of those).
4) Skrulls: Skrull Agent, Skrull Warrior, Skrull Commando, Skrull Infiltrator/Warrior/General, Nenora, Raksor, Paibok. Can be led by Super Skrull OR a Skrull General.
5) Vampires: Vampire Lackeys, Rachel van Helsing. Can be led by Baron Blood. [I don't know if Baron Blood has ever led a group of vampires, but I think he's the only other vampire in the game, so they didn't have much in the way of options for a leader.]
6) Minions of Doom: Doombots, Doctor Doom LE (CT #110). Can be led by Doctor Doom (any one of the rookie, experienced, veteran, unique or LE versions that have been made).
7) Moloids: Moloids, Val-or. Can be led by Mole Man (or Rupert LE).
8) Brood: Brood Warriors, Divebomber. Can be led by Brood Queen OR Prof. Xavier LE (CM #220).
9) Kree: Kree Warriors, Kree Warrior/Captain/Colonel, Captain Mar-Vell (CM #203). Can be led by Captain Marvel (CM #086 OR Supernova #080) OR Captain Mar-Vell (Supernova #093).
10) Morlocks: Morlocks, Marrow, Jonny Ell, Sarah LE (CM #207). Can be led by Callisto OR Morlock Leader OR experienced Storm (XP #083).
11) Hellfire Club: Hellfire Guards, Wade Cole. Can be led by any one member of the Hellfire Club: Black Queen, Black King, White Queen, or Donald Pierce. And I believe Magneto may have been the White or Black King at some point.
12) Shi'ar: Shi'ar Warrior/Borderer/Admiral. Can be led by Deathbird OR Majestrix Lilandra.
13) Super-Apes. Can be led by Red Ghost.
14) Gotham PD: Gotham Policeman, Metropolis SCU, Gotham Undercover, Paramedics, Swat Officers, Swat Specialists, Swat Heavy Weapons. Can be led by Commissioner Gordon. [Metropolis SCU look like Swat-types, and Gotham needed more variety, so.... Of course, then I also gave them the actual Swat figures, even though they are from Marvel sets. I took out the Swat LEs, as they are actual characters from the Marvel universe, and therefore wouldn't be in Gotham.]
15) Checkmate: Checkmate Agents, Checkmate Medics. Can be led by Arsenal (Legacy #041 or #042) OR Roy Harper, Jr. LE.
16) Easy Company: Easy Company Soldiers, Easy Company Medics, Little Sure Shot, 4-Eyes. Can be led by Sgt. Rock OR Gen. Frank Rock.
17) LexCorp: Lex Corp Security, Lex Corp Battlesuit, Hope, Eddie Carlin. Can be led by Lex Luthor.
18) Apokolips Troopers: Parademon Scouts, Parademon Warriors, Intergang Agents, Intergang Medics, Pharzoof, Valinus. Can be led by Darkseid OR Desaad OR Kalibak.
19) Manhunters: Manhunters, Manhunter 2.0 LE. Can be led by Hank Henshaw (Cyborg Superman).
20) DEO: DEO Agents, HDC Troopers, Cameron Chase, Montgomery Kelly. Can be led by Mr. Bones. [I don't think HDC is affiliated with DEO, but they needed some more variety, and I don't know who would lead HDC anyway.]
21) Science Police: Science Police, Shvaughn Erin. Can be led by any one member of the Legion of Super Heroes.
22) Kobra: Kobra Fanatics, Jason Burr. Can be led by Kobra OR Jason Burr.
23) Rocket Red Brigade: Rocket Red R/E/Vs, Dmitri Pushkin. Can be led by Kilowog.
24) Hive: Hive Troopers. Can be led by Queen Bee. [Queen Bee is not actually associated with HIVE, but Hive Troopers make a good stand-in for her Bee Troopers.]
25) OMACs: OMACs, OMAC 5674. Can be led by any OMAC, I guess. Or I suppose Oracle (on the ICWO feat card) would make a good stand in for Brother Eye.
26) Superman Robots (CD #221). Can be led by Superman (or by one of the robots).
27) Blackhawks. I guess just pick one to be the leader.
28) MegaCity Judges: Brit City Judges. Can be led by Judge Dredd OR Judge Hershey OR Judge Anderson.
I think that puts all the generics in play. Except the Hand Ninjas, for which I should figure something out. And the Saurian Troopers from Indy, who are probably out of luck. (I suppose you could use them as stand-ins for Atlanteans, and have them led by Namor/Sub-Mariner OR Aquaman/Arthur Curry. Or use them as Saurian Troopers and have them led by any Saurian Trooper or Bajounte-Ka.)
